Job summary

Bradken Casting (M) Sdn Bhd in Merlimau, Melaka is seeking an experienced Team Leader to supervise a production team on-site. You will monitor performance, drive efficiency, and coach staff to meet quality and safety standards within a fast-paced manufacturing facility.

The role requires 5–7 years in pattern shop operations (wood-based) and proven leadership abilities. You will work on rotating shifts, contributing to continuous improvement and timely production schedules.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Team Leader/Supervisor/Shift Lead in manufacturing, heavy industry
• 5–7 years in pattern shop (wood-based) operations (pattern making & core making)
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate a team
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control & resource management
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Able to work on shift hours (morning/afternoon), 6 days a week, not exceeding 45 hours per week

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our manufacturing operations in Merlimau, Melaka. As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a team of production workers, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality output. This is a full-time position based on-site at our facility.

What you'll be doing:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of production workers
• Monitor team performance and productivity, and implement strategies to optimize workflows
• Provide hands-on training and coaching to team members to develop their skills
• Identify and resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks in a timely manner
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and quality standards
• Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute production schedules
• Provide regular progress reports to management

What we're looking for

Qualification

Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology (other types of Engineering / Technical disciplines will be considered.

Technical Skills

• Foundry pattern - pattern assembly, repair, and familiarity with wood, metal and resin patterns
• Knowledge of casting design principles, tolerances and shrinkage allowance
• Tooling - machining processes, jigs, fixtures, gauges and tooling design. Require proficiency in CAD/CAM software
