Job summary

Bradken is seeking an experienced Team Leader for its Merlimau, Melaka manufacturing facility. The role oversees production workers, ensures efficient workflows, and maintains high-quality output on-site in a heavy industry setting.

You will supervise a production team, monitor performance, provide hands-on training, resolve bottlenecks, and collaborate with other departments to plan schedules while upholding safety and quality standards. Full-time, on-site work.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology.
• 5–7 years in moulding/heavy industry experience.
• Proven experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor / Shift Lead.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control & resource management.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our manufacturing operations in Merlimau, Melaka.

As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a team of production workers, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality output. This is a full-time position based on-site at our facility.

In this role you will:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of production workers
• Monitor team performance and productivity, and implement strategies to optimize workflows
• Provide hands-on training and coaching to team members to develop their skills
• Identify and resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks in a timely manner
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and quality standards
• Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute production schedules
• Provide regular progress reports to management

You will have:

• Proven experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor / Shift Lead in a manufacturing environment, especially heavy industry
• 5 to 7 years in moulding
• Strong engineering drawing skills
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control & resource management
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic team. Able to work on shift hours (morning and afternoon), 6 days work week (Mon to Sat) but do not exceed 45 hours per week

Qualification

Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology (other types of Engineering / Technical disciplines will be considered.

Technical Skills

• Foundry pattern - pattern assembly, repair, and familiarity with wood, metal and resin patterns
• Knowledge of casting design principles, tolerances and shrinkage allowance
• Tooling - machining processes, jigs, fixtures, gauges and tooling design. Require proficiency in CAD/CAM software
