Job summary

GLOCOMP Systems (M) SDN BHD is a Malaysia-based distributor of IT infrastructure products and services. The role supports networks, security, storage, and server technologies while collaborating with engineers to deploy core vendor solutions.

The position requires basic programming, Linux/Unix skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to customers. Occasional travel to client sites nationwide is expected to deliver effective pre- and post-sales support.

Qualifications

• Basic programming background required.
• Ability to analyze business and technical scenarios.
• Explain technical details to customers patiently.
• Willing to travel to client sites nationwide within Malaysia.
• Linux/Unix knowledge in RedHat/SUSE/Solaris/AIX/HPUX or related.

Responsibilities

• Solve problems on networks, operating systems, storage, security and servers.
• Work with engineers to implement and support core product technologies like Cisco, Symantec, Veritas, Netapp, Quantum, Unix technologies.
• Install, configure, integrate, monitor and troubleshoot for assigned projects and jobs.
• Travel to clients’ sites as required and provide ongoing support.

Job description

• To solve problems on Networks, Operating Systems, Storage, Security and Servers.
• You’ll work and learn with our engineers and technology principals to implement and support our core Product Technologies like Cisco, Symantec, Veritas, Netapp, Quantum, Unix technologies for network & security products.
• Installation, configuration, integration, monitoring, and troubleshooting for assigned projects and jobs
• Analyses, Modifies, and/or designs for solutions across mainframe, midrange, client
• Certified for new and existing vendor software; provides installation, maintenance and customization of vendor software as required
• Multi-task and effectively solve problems in a dynamic customer environment with minimal supervision.
• Individual must be open to traveling to clients sites nationwide when required.

Requirements:

• Basic programming background

• Professional Certificate/Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Maths, Science and/or Engineering.
