Job summary

Ancile Solutions Sdn Bhd is seeking a System Engineer to join our technical team in Penang. You will support design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure environments across Windows OS, M365, and Azure, with emphasis on virtualization and backup strategies.

The role involves project work and ongoing service support for client environments, including AD/Exchange Online, Entra ID, VMs, networking, and security configurations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1-2 years of relevant system administration or IT services experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience with enterprise IT infrastructure preferred.
• Good written and spoken English; customer-facing experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and possess own transport.
• Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Azure, VMware, Veeam, HPE, Dell) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions.

• Implement and manage backup solutions and DR testing.

• Participate in project implementation, testing, and handover activities.

Job description

We are looking for a System Engineer to join our technical team and support the design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT infrastructure environments.

The successful candidate should have a strong foundation in compute system architecture, Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, virtualization, and backup & recovery. The role will involve both project implementation and manage service support for customer environments.

Key Responsible

Design, implement, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions.

Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of:

Windows operating system environment

Microsoft 365 services

Backup and recovery solutions

Storage systems and SAN/NAS

Implement, support & managed client’s Microsoft 365, including user administration, Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra ID, licensing, and security configuration.

Implement, support & managed client’s Microsoft Azure deployment and administration, including Azure Virtual Machines, networking, storage, backup, and identity services.

Perform server/PC deployment, operating system installation, patching, upgrades, and system hardening.

Configure and manage Microsoft Windows Server, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related services.

Configure and troubleshoot virtualization environments such as Microsoft Hyper-V and/or VMware.

Implement and manage backup solutions, including backup scheduling, monitoring, restoration, and disaster recovery testing.

Perform system health checks, performance monitoring, capacity planning, and preventive maintenance.

Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, application, virtualization, storage, and backup-related issues.

Participate in infrastructure migration, upgrade, and technology refresh projects.

Prepare technical documentation, configuration records, network/system diagrams, and as‑built documentation.

Work with hardware and software vendors for technical support and warranty/RMA matters.

Participate in project implementation, system testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Ensure assigned incidents, service requests, and project tasks are completed within agreed timelines and SLA requirements.

Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

1-2 years of relevant experience in system administration, infrastructure support, system integration, or IT services.

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Experience working with enterprise IT infrastructure is preferred.

Experience in customer-facing technical support or project implementation is an advantage.

Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, VMware, Veeam, HPE, Dell, or equivalent are an advantage.

Good command of written and spoken English.

Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.

Possess own transport.
