Job summary

A manufacturing company in Penang is seeking an experienced professional to manage sourcing and vendor selection for raw materials. The ideal candidate will support New Product Introductions by negotiating prices, ensuring material availability, and conducting market surveys for suppliers. Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including significant sourcing roles. Strong analytical and negotiation skills are essential, along with knowledge of product costing and technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years related experience in Purchasing / Procurement.
• 3-5 years of sourcing experience.
• Experience in startup environments is a plus.

Job description

This position will be responsible for Sourcing and price negotiation as well as vendor selection for raw material, develop new / existing supplier in accordance to Dialight Corporate regulation and protocol, to support new product introduction or existing product based on business needs besides responsible for price negotiation, lead time reduction to ensure NPI is timely launched with best possible cost competitiveness.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide sourcing support for all New Product Introduction and ensure materials are sufficient for smooth NPI launching.
• Analyse & perform strategic sourcing on material / products required including review preliminary specification, identify the right suppliers to achieve long term and sustainable commercial benefit to Dialight.
• Investigate and conduct market survey to source for the right supplier with the best competitive pricing and at the right quality.
• Analyse and provide market intelligent survey on new and existing suppliers, new products /commodity, new material or new technology.
• Work with R&D or Engineering to develop and select components / material platforms, perform Value Engineering or Value Analysis on existing materials to support company annual Cost Reduction KPI and localization initiative.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Supply Chain Management.
• Additional advantages will be considered for candidate with experiences working in new start- up company.
• At least 10 years related working experiences in Purchasing / Procurement and 3-5 years in sourcing exposures.
• Good in analytical and negotiation skill, knowledge on product costing and technical drawings.
