Job summary

SOLS Energy Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Management Manager (Mandarin Speaker) to lead end-to-end supply chain planning, sourcing, purchasing, storage and allocation. Reporting to the CEO, you will shape procurement strategy, supplier relationships and cost management while building a high-performing SCM team.

Your role requires English, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu fluency, 8+ years in SCM with leadership experience, and proven negotiation skills across local and import sources.

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Management Manager (Mandarin Speaker)

Role Purpose

The Supply Chain Management Manager owns the strategy, discipline and performance of SOLS Energy's end-to-end supply chain planning, sourcing, purchasing, storing, moving and allocating materials and services so that sales and installation are never interrupted, customers get the best sustainable price, and every material is trackable from purchase to deployment. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role sets the strategic direction for procurement, supplier relationships, cost and margin management, inventory policy and licensing/compliance, while leading and developing the SCM team who execute against that direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and continuously refine the department's end-to-end supply chain strategy — planning, sourcing, purchasing, storage, movement and allocation — in line with SOLS Energy's growth and revenue targets.
• Set sourcing strategy across local vs. import and single- vs. multi-source options, balancing price, quality, track record, manufacturing capability and speed of delivery.
• Translate sales and installation forecasts into supply chain capacity plans, ensuring the function can scale with the business without losing fundamentals.
• Own demand and stock forecasting methodology, reviewing and adjusting it monthly against confirmed and forecasted installations.
• Own the supplier selection framework; approve new supplier onboarding decisions that carry material risk.
• Lead negotiations and build long-term relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers, evaluating decisions on total cost — not price alone — including time loss, disruption and relearning from switching.
• Approve exceptions to standard pricing, specifications or compliance requirements.
• Review supplier performance, lead times and issues weekly, and hold suppliers accountable to agreed service levels.
• Reduce single-supplier dependency through deliberate risk mitigation and diversification.

3. Cost, Margin & Pricing Strategy

• Own procurement cost discipline and its direct impact on gross and net margins across residential, commercial and manufacturing segments.
• Approve large capital or bulk purchase commitments beyond the department's standard decision authority.
• Drive cost-down and risk-reduction initiatives without compromising quality or licensing/technical compliance.
• Provide accurate, timely costings to Sales and Finance to support pricing and quoting decisions.
• Set stock policy — the right amount of ready stock — balancing availability against working capital and dead-stock risk.
• Oversee inventory turnover, stock accuracy, aging stock and write-off risk at a strategic level, holding the Supply Chain Manager accountable for day-to-day execution.
• Ensure order visibility, trackability and replaceability across the full materials lifecycle, from purchase order to deployment.
• Coordinate with the Logistics function on movement of stock to sites, resolving urgent supply or logistics blockers as they arise.
• Ensure all company and product licensing and technical guideline requirements are fulfilled and kept up to date.
• Own supply chain risk management — supplier response time, delivery changes, weather, port congestion and production delays — with mitigation plans in place.
• Act as the escalation point for strategic sourcing changes that impact brand, compliance or company-wide risk exposure.
• Maintain accuracy, documentation and traceability standards across the function, with zero tolerance for last-minute firefighting caused by poor planning.
• Lead, coach, develop and wider SCM team, building independence, reliability and execution quality over time.
• Define clear decision authority tiers within the team, expanding authority with consistent delivery and tightening it after repeated failure.
• Model and reinforce the BOSS Framework and SOLS Credo in daily decision-making and team routines.
• Ensure hiring, coaching and performance decisions within the team are based on ability and results, not credentials alone.

7. Cross-Functional Alignment & Reporting

• Align procurement and stock plans with Sales, Installation, Technical and Finance on a weekly and monthly cadence.
• Continuously delete, simplify, accelerate and automate SOPs, templates and approval flows to remove unnecessary friction.
• Report supply chain performance, risks and opportunities directly to the CEO, with clear, factual and timely updates.
• Represent the supply chain function in company-wide planning, ensuring supply chain capacity keeps pace with growth plans.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record negotiating with suppliers and manufacturers, and managing supplier relationships and performance.
• Strong commercial acumen — a solid understanding of how procurement decisions drive margins and P&L outcomes.
• Experience designing, improving and enforcing SOPs and approval workflows in a fast-moving environment.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience, with the ability to build and develop a team.
• Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Melayu (written and spoken) to liaise with regional suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Preferred

• Experience in solar, renewable energy, construction or another import- and technical-compliance-heavy industry.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
• Experience scaling a supply chain function within a high-growth organisation.
• Regional sourcing exposure, particularly China/ASEAN manufacturing and import channels.
