Job summary

The Edge Partnership partners with a well-established manufacturing player in Malaysia to hire a Supply Chain Director based in Johor. You will lead end-to-end supply chain, driving strategy across procurement, production planning, logistics and inventory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or engineering; master's is an advantage.
• 10-15 years in supply chain with at least 5 years in senior leadership, preferably manufacturing.
• Strong procurement, logistics and production planning experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute end-to-end supply chain strategy aligning procurement, production planning, logistics, and inventory management.
• Lead and develop cross-functional teams across procurement, warehousing, logistics, and demand planning.
• Oversee raw material sourcing and supplier management for cost, quality, supply continuity.
• Drive inventory optimization balancing working capital with service levels.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and freight/logistics partners.
• Monitor KPIs like on-time delivery, lead times, inventory turnover, cost-to-serve.
• Lead process improvements, automation and digitalization across the supply chain.
• Ensure import/export compliance and trade regulations in Malaysia.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Finance, and Quality to align demand and supply.
• Lead risk management including disruption planning and contingency measures.
• Prepare and present reports to senior leadership.
• Manage department budget and cost control.

Our client is a well-established player manufacturing industry, with operations based in Johor. Known for their strong regional presence and commitment to quality, the company supplies a diverse range of industrial and commercial customers across Southeast Asia. As part of its continued growth and operational excellence agenda, they are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Director to lead and strengthen their end-to-end supply chain function.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy, aligning procurement, production planning, logistics, and inventory management with business objectives
• Lead and manage the end-to-end supply chain team, including procurement, warehousing, logistics, and demand planning functions
• Oversee raw material sourcing and supplier management to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and continuity of supply
• Drive inventory optimization initiatives to balance working capital efficiency with service level requirements
• Manage relationships with key suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners, negotiating contracts and service agreements
• Monitor and improve supply chain KPIs (on-time delivery, lead times, inventory turnover, cost-to-serve)
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and digitalization initiatives across the supply chain
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, trade compliance, and relevant industry standards
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Production, Finance, and Quality teams to ensure alignment between demand and supply
• Lead risk management efforts, including supply chain disruption planning and contingency measures
• Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain performance to senior leadership
• Manage departmental budget and cost control initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage
• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, ideally the manufacturing industry
• Strong track record in procurement, logistics, and production planning within a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams
• Solid understanding of ERP systems and supply chain analytics tools
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
• Familiarity with import/export procedures and trade compliance requirements in Malaysia
• Willingness to be based in Johor and travel as needed
