Job summary

B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn Bhd (BMI) in Penang seeks a Production Supervisor with strong people management and hands-on manufacturing leadership.

You will supervise operators and technicians, manage attendance, ensure safe and compliant operations, and allocate resources to match changing production priorities. The role requires a Diploma or related experience, familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and experience in shift planning and problem solving to maintain daily output.

Qualifications

• Requires Diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality systems and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 is preferred.
• Experience in precision manufacturing and medical devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise operators and technicians during assigned shifts.
• Ensure employees perform duties according to established standards and expectations.
• Manage attendance, absenteeism, punctuality, and workforce discipline.
• Enforce compliance with company policies, safety requirements, working hours, and break schedules.
• Allocate manpower effectively to support changing production priorities.
• Monitor production performance and drive actions to achieve daily output targets.
• Conduct effective shift handovers and collaborate with fellow supervisors.
• Coach, develop, and motivate employees to improve performance and teamwork.
• Respond to operational challenges and make timely decisions to minimize disruptions.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and accountable working environment

Job description

People Management - Minimum 2 years of supervisory, team leader or people management experience in precision manufacturing (medical devices preferred). Demonstrated ability to manage employee behavior, performance, and workplace discipline. Experience in shift operations, manpower planning, and production execution.

Lead by example and drive a culture of discipline, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Computer Literacy: MS Office, and production tracking systems such as SAP System.

The ability to make sound, timely, and practical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Basic knowledge or exposure to one or more Surface Treatment manufacturing processes of Stainless Steel, including Ultrasonic Washing, Vibro-polishing, Electro-polishing, Gold Plating, Sandblasting, Passivation, or Welding operations.

Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machine and process issues quickly.

Planning & Scheduling: Efficient shift planning and resource allocation to ensure a smooth daily operation and bottleneck management.

Cross-Department Coordination: Work with QC, main production line, maintenance, and planning teams.
