Job summary

Pasar Raya Matahari in Klang Valley, Malaysia, invites applications for a Retail Supervisor in the Dry Food Department. You will oversee daily operations, ensure product freshness and accurate displays, monitor temperatures, and safeguard quality and safety while leading a small team to deliver excellent service.

You will handle inventory, coordinate replenishment with suppliers, train staff, manage schedules, support promotions, and ensure correct pricing and signage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily activities across the Dry Food sections.
• Ensure products are fresh, properly labelled & displayed and attractively displayed according to company standards.
• Monitor temperature, storage conditions, and stock rotation to maintain product quality and safety.
• Check stock levels regularly to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
• Coordinate with suppliers or the purchasing team to ensure timely and accurate replenishment.
• Assist in receiving goods and ensure correct quantity, quality, and documentation.
• Prepare daily or weekly reports on inventory, wastage, and sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, equipment, and storage facilities.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
• Train, guide, and supervise staff to perform their tasks efficiently and safely.
• Prepare and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate manpower.
• Motivate the team to deliver excellent service and maintain discipline.
• Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally.
• Provide product knowledge and assistance to enhance the customer experience.
• Monitor daily sales performance and contribute ideas to improve sales and reduce shrinkage.
• Support promotional activities and ensure price tags and signage are accurate and updated.

Job description

The Retail Supervisor for the Dry Food Department plays a key role in ensuring customers enjoy a fresh, clean, and well-organised shopping experience. The role oversees the daily operations of the department, maintains product quality, and supports the team in delivering excellent service.

1. Daily Operations & Product Quality

• Oversee all daily activities across the Dry Food sections.

• Handle customer inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally.
