TSM Automobile Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Supervisor to lead on-site construction and automotive-related operations at our Tawau, Sabah facility. This full-time role focuses on safety, quality, and on-schedule delivery, with responsibility for a skilled team and resource management.

You will ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements while guiding team members and coordinating with management to meet project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with senior management, clients, and team members on objectives and expectations.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor to join our team at our Tawau, Sabah facility on a full-time basis. As Supervisor, you will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing construction and automotive-related operations on-site. This position is integral to ensuring that all projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled workers, managing resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements. This is a hands‑on supervisory role that requires both technical knowledge and strong people management skills.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction and automotive operations on-site, ensuring all work meets project specifications and quality standards
• Supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of construction workers and tradespeople to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion
• Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel
• Monitor project progress against timelines and budgets, identifying potential delays or issues and implementing corrective actions promptly
• Manage inventory and allocation of tools, equipment, and materials required for daily operations
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, labour hours, safety incidents, and any other relevant documentation
• Communicate effectively with senior management, clients, and team members to ensure clarity on project objectives and expectations
• Conduct toolbox talks and training sessions to maintain skill development and reinforce safety culture amongst the team
• Address workplace conflicts and performance issues in a professional and constructive manner
• Ensure compliance with all applicable construction regulations, local bylaws, and company policies

What we're looking for

• Proven supervisory experience in construction or a related industry, ideally within an automotive or manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, techniques, safety standards, and relevant regulations in Malaysia
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise professionally with various stakeholders
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and construction specifications
• Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
• Competency in basic computer skills and experience with construction management software (preferred but not essential)
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the Tawau region as required
• Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Relevant construction certifications or qualifications (such as CIDB certification) are highly desirable
