Job summary

Benchmark Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a procurement professional to lead supplier evaluation, contract negotiation and efficient purchase order execution. You will monitor supplier performance and ensure contract compliance while driving cost savings and process improvements.

The role requires strong negotiation skills, solid knowledge of procurement processes, and the ability to manage multiple contracts in a fast-paced manufacturing or logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement, buying or contract management within manufacturing or logistics
• Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive terms while maintaining supplier relationships
• Excellent knowledge of procurement processes, contract management and supply chain principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and procurement software systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities effectively
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of quality standards and compliance in manufacturing or logistics environments
• Diploma or degree in supply chain management, procurement, commerce or related field (preferred)
• Experience with contract negotiation and vendor management (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Sourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers for contract-based procurement requirements
• Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favourable pricing, delivery schedules and quality standards
• Preparing and issuing purchase orders and contract documentation
• Monitoring supplier performance and contract compliance throughout the agreement period
• Managing contract renewals and amendments as required
• Collaborating with internal departments to understand procurement needs and requirements
• Maintaining accurate records of contracts, pricing and supplier information
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements within procurement activities
• Resolving procurement issues and disputes with suppliers in a professional manner
• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement procedures
