Job summary

Ambition is seeking a Head of Project Planning & Authority in Kuala Lumpur to lead the design strategy and planning function across a portfolio of high-profile property development projects. You will drive the full project lifecycle from feasibility through authority approvals, ensuring design quality and regulatory compliance while guiding a multidisciplinary team of experts.

The role requires a strong leader with deep property development know-how and the ability to manage multiple consultants

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior management experience in property development or construction.
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Urban Town Planning, or related discipline; Master's degree advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of the Malaysian property development process and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong decision-making and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and networking skills with cross-functional teams and consultants.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing strategic plans across the full project lifecycle—from feasibility to authority approvals.
• Overseeing project timelines, milestones and design quality to ensure alignment with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Leading and developing a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers and consultants, setting clear performance expectations.
• Reviewing building specifications, tender drawings and design details to minimise errors and variations.
• Ensuring all planning and building plan submissions are completed on schedule and compliant with regulatory requirements.
