Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a Finance Director to lead the organisation's finance function with a focus on data centre construction and engineering projects, consultancy engagements, project cost management and commercial performance.

You will ensure strong governance, cash-flow management, profitability, cost control and regulatory compliance while supporting strategic business decisions with senior management and the board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; professional qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial management and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale financial operations and leading high-performing finance teams.
• Strong expertise in financial planning, analysis, reporting and forecasting within a consulting or professional services environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations and corporate governance requirements.
• Advanced proficiency with financial management systems and accounting software; experience with ERP systems is beneficial.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think commercially and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining the highest levels of professional integrity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term objectives and growth plans.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis to support decision-making across the organisation.
• Manage and supervise the finance team, providing leadership and professional development opportunities.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting in line with accounting standards.
• Maintain internal controls and robust governance to protect assets and ensure compliance.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities for compliance with laws and standards.
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends and opportunities for cost optimisation.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and treasury to maintain liquidity.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the board on investments and major decisions.
• Oversee tax planning and compliance to minimise tax liabilities.
