Job summary

Woh Hup Group in Malaysia seeks a Project Director to oversee end-to-end delivery of Data Centre projects from tender to handover. You will lead a cross-functional team across M&E, Civil & Structural, and Architectural disciplines, ensuring safe, on-time, within-budget delivery while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.

The role requires extensive experience, strong leadership, and proven ability to manage risks, contracts, and complex stakeholder relationships on mission-critical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 20 years of construction/project delivery experience, with at least 10 years in Data Centre or mission critical projects.
• Proven experience managing large scale Data Centre projects from tender through handover.
• Strong knowledge of M&E integration, C&S, Architectural works, testing & commissioning and Data Centre construction sequencing.
• Strong commercial, contractual, cost and project risk management capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, client management, stakeholder management and decision making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall delivery of Data Centre projects from tender/pre-construction through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Develop and drive project execution plans, programmes, budgets, resources and key delivery milestones.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams across M&E, Civil & Structural, Architectural, Commercial, Planning, Safety and Quality functions.
• Oversee the coordination and integration of critical Data Centre systems and ensure construction readiness for testing and commissioning.
• Monitor project progress, cost, productivity and profitability, implementing corrective actions where required.
• Manage key project risks, contractual matters, variations and potential delays.
• Ensure projects comply with required HSE, quality, technical, contractual and client standards.
• Act as the senior project interface with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships.
• Drive effective coordination between design, procurement, construction and commissioning activities to achieve project milestones.
• Lead and develop the project team, driving accountability, collaboration and high performance project delivery.

The Project Director is accountable for the end to end delivery of assigned Data Centre projects, from tender and pre-construction through design development, construction, testing & commissioning, completion and final handover. The role provides overall leadership and direction to the project team and is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality and technical standards, while meeting client requirements and maintaining project profitability. The Project Director serves as the primary senior interface with the client, consultants and key project stakeholders and is responsible for integrating Civil & Structural (C&S), Architectural, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), specialist systems and commissioning activities across the project.
