Job summary

The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Manager - New Business Underwriting to provide underwriting support across all product lines and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate decisions while meeting regulatory requirements.

Applicants should have a University Degree and at least 3 years of underwriting experience, with non-degree holders who have relevant underwriting certification also considered.

Qualifications

• University degree required or equivalent professional underwriting credentials.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant underwriting experience.
• Experience analysing medical records and making underwriting decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support across all product lines in New Business Underwriting.
• Assess applications for life, accident & health, and long-term care proposals and update decisions.
• Ensure all applications are processed and followed up per SLA.
• Advise on preliminary underwriting enquiry and case discussions with financial representatives.
• Provide underwriting advice and support via e-booking, emails and calls.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly to financial representatives.
• Take accountability for business and regulatory compliance risks and mitigate them.
