The Great Eastern Life Assurance Company Limited in Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Manager - New Business Underwriting to provide underwriting support across all product lines and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate decisions while meeting regulatory requirements.

Applicants should have a University Degree and at least 3 years of underwriting experience, with non-degree holders who have relevant underwriting certification also considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support across all product lines in New Business Underwriting.

• Advise on preliminary underwriting enquiry and case discussions with financial representatives.
• Provide underwriting advice and support via e-booking, emails and calls.
• Communicate underwriting decisions clearly to financial representatives.
• Take accountability for business and regulatory compliance risks and mitigate them.

Assistant Manager - New Business Underwriting

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to provide underwriting support across all product lines within the New Business Underwriting function. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely and accurate underwriting decisions, in accordance with underwriting guidelines, risk management principles and regulatory requirements, while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.

Assess applications for life, accident & health, and long-term care proposals, including analysing medical records & updating requirements and decisions into source system, in compliance with underwriting guidelines & regulatory requirements

Ensure all applications are processed and followed up in accordance with stipulated service level agreement

Provide advice on preliminary underwriting enquiry and case discussion with financial representatives

Provide underwriting advice & support for financial representatives and agency business development managers through e-booking, emails and phone calls

Communicate underwriting decisions clearly to the financial representatives

Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
