To lead and manage a team of payroll specialists to deliver the time & attendance and payroll services for the subsidiaries in South East Asia & Oceania region. The job incumbent is expected to manage the service delivery in meeting the subsidiaries’ HR’s expectations and service level agreements.
Job Descriptions
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead timely and accurate payroll and time & attendance service delivery for all supported subsidiaries, meeting agreed service level agreements and customer expectations.
- Manage a team of payroll specialists to execute day-to-day payroll processes that consistently deliver accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with HR policies and performance standards.
Compliance & Controls:
- Ensure all payroll controls and regulatory compliance requirements are met; own the end-of-year statutory returns and reporting obligations.
- Stay current with legislative and regulatory changes affecting payroll operations.
- Build and develop payroll team capability through training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to create a resilient, stable operation.
- Identify performance gaps and develop team skills to support long-term operational continuity.
System & Process Improvement:
- Maintain and continuously improve the payroll system to support service delivery and compliance.
- Lead projects and implement changes necessary for statutory updates, system enhancements, and operational efficiency improvements.
Job Requirements
Payroll & Service Delivery:
- Proven experience managing payroll operations in a Shared Service Centre environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple payroll cycles simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines and accuracy standards.
- Hands‑on experience processing payroll; willingness to step in operationally when needed to support the team.
Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of payroll regulatory requirements (tax, employment law, statutory reporting).
- Experience working in South East Asia & Oceania market, with willingness to learn regional requirements.
- Proven experience managing and developing a payroll team.
- Ability to mentor team members and build capability.
Technical & System Skills:
- Strong hands‑on experience with HRIS and payroll systems; able to navigate, troubleshoot, and identify system improvements.
- Comfortable using IT tools to streamline processes and improve payroll operations.
Problem-Solving & Communication:
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to identify issues and implement practical solutions.
- Clear communicator who can explain complex payroll/compliance matters to non-payroll stakeholders (HR, IT, subsidiary teams).
- Skilled at building and maintaining effective working relationships across the organization.
