Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a payroll professional to manage end-to-end monthly payroll for a mixed workforce including part-time and shift-based staff. The role ensures compliance with Malaysia's Employment Act 1955 and statutory contributions such as EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB, while handling payroll reporting and audit readiness.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in HR, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of payroll experience.
  • Proven experience handling full payroll cycle independently.
  • Experience in managing part-time / hourly payroll and shift-based workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Handle full-cycle payroll processing (monthly) for all employees.
  • Manage payroll for full-time and part-time staff, including hourly rates and shift-based calculations.
  • Ensure accuracy of salaries, allowances, deductions and claims; process new hires, resignations and prorated salaries.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory contributions (SOCSO, EIS, PCB) and tax clearance where applicable.
  • Prepare payroll reports for Finance, Management and External auditors; support payroll audits.

To manage end-to-end payroll processing accurately and ensure full compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements and the Employment Act 1955.


The role also supports payroll reporting, audit readiness, and employee payroll matters, including handling part-time and shift-based workforce.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

Handle full-cycle payroll processing (monthly) for all employees

Manage payroll for full-time and part-time staff, including:

Hourly rates

Shift-based calculations

Overtime (OT) and public holiday (PH) pay

Ensure accuracy of:

Salaries, allowances, deductions, and claims

Process:

New hires, resignations, final pay, prorated salary

Statutory Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate submission of:

SOCSO (PERKESO)

EIS

PCB (LHDN)

Prepare and manage:

CP21 (resigning employees)

CP22 (new / incoming employees)

Ensure proper tax clearance process for employees leaving the company

Ensure payroll processes comply with Employment Act 1955

Keep up to date with changes in labour laws and statutory regulations

Reporting & Audit

Prepare payroll reports for:

Finance

Management

External auditors

Support internal and external payroll audits

Maintain proper payroll documentation and records

Employee Support

Respond to employee queries related to:

Payslips

Salary calculations

Leave and claims impact on payroll

Ensure clear communication and timely resolution

System & Process

Maintain and ensure accuracy in payroll system

Work closely with HR and Finance teams

Identify and recommend improvements to payroll processes

Requirements

Diploma / Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration or related field

Minimum 2–4 years of payroll experience

Proven experience handling full payroll cycle independently

Experience in managing part-time / hourly payroll and shift-based workforce

MUST HAVE:

Strong knowledge of:

Malaysian payroll statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB)

Employment Act 1955

Familiar with:

CP21 / CP22 submission and tax clearance process

Good understanding of:

Overtime and public holiday pay calculations

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Added Advantage

Experience using HRMS, especially HRMS (BrioHR)

Experience in retail / shopping mall environment

Exposure to payroll audit and reporting

Strong sense of confidentiality and integrity

Detail-oriented with high accuracy

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Good communication and problem-solving skills
