Job summary

foodpanda, part of Delivery Hero, is seeking a Specialist, Business Development to join our Marketplace team in Malaysia. Based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, you will lead onboarding of new vendors and promote foodpanda services to partners.

You will build a robust sales pipeline, negotiate high-value deals across F&B, FMCG and retail, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful activations and partner experiences.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of B2B sales or partnerships experience in F&B/retail/FMCG.
• Proven track record of closing deals and meeting sales targets.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-starter able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce) is a plus.
• Bonus: selling tech or software solutions to businesses.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding of new vendors to the foodpanda platform.
• Introduce foodpanda services and solutions to partners via in-person or virtual meetings.
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline and identify new opportunities.
• Negotiate and close high-value deals with key partners in F&B, FMCG and retail.

We’re on the lookout for a Specialist, Business Development to join our Marketplace team in Malaysia. This is a unique opportunity for a driven and experienced sales professional to make a direct impact on foodpanda’s growth. This role is based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and reports directly to the Shops Commercial Lead.

• As a Specialist, Business Development, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving growth across our marketplace by:
• Leading the execution of strategic sales plans to onboard new vendors to the foodpanda platform.
• Introducing foodpanda’s suite of services and solutions to prospective partners through both in-person and virtual meetings.
• Building and managing a robust sales pipeline, identifying new business opportunities through proactive outreach and market research.
• Negotiating and closing high-value deals with key partners across the F&B, FMCG, and retail sectors.
• Ensuring a seamless handover to the Vendor Onboarding team and supporting activation efforts for newly signed accounts.
• Gathering and analyzing market insights to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for growth.

Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams including Marketing, Operations, and Account Management to ensure exceptional partner experiences.

Qualifications

What you need to be successful

• 2-3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or partnership roles—preferably within F&B, retail, or FMCG industries.
• Proven track record of consistently closing deals and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
• Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Experience using Salesforce or other CRM tools is a plus.
• Bonus: Experience in selling tech or software solutions to businesses.
