Job summary

Amici Food Solutions in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Sous Chef – Pastry to lead daily pastry and bakery production within the production team. You will plan schedules according to orders, supervise staff, and ensure products meet recipes, quality standards and specifications.

You will monitor progress, manage manpower, material usage and wastage while training junior team members. A strong focus on food safety, hygiene and workplace cleanliness is essential for success in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of pastry/bakery production experience.
• Prior Sous Chef or senior kitchen role preferred.
• Hands-on pastry and bakery production knowledge.
• Experience supervising a production team.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, QC, hygiene and waste management.
• Able to work independently and make operational decisions.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work in fast-paced, high-volume production.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef – Pastry to join our production team, leading and overseeing daily pastry and bakery production.

Key responsibilities

Lead and oversee daily pastry and bakery production

Plan daily production schedules according to orders and operational requirements

Supervise and guide Chef de Partie, Commis and junior production staff

Ensure products are prepared according to recipes, quality standards and production specifications

Monitor production progress and ensure orders are completed accurately and on time

Manage manpower allocation and daily task assignments

Monitor raw material usage, stock requirements and wastage

Train and develop junior team members on production methods and standards

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace cleanliness

About you

Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in pastry and/or bakery production

Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, Senior CDP or equivalent senior kitchen position is preferred

Strong hands‑on knowledge of pastry and bakery production

Proven experience supervising and leading a production team

Good knowledge of production planning, quality control, food hygiene and wastage management

Able to work independently and make operational decisions when required

Strong organisational, leadership and problem‑solving skills

Able to perform effectively in a fast‑paced and high‑volume production environment

Responsible, disciplined and able to meet production deadlines

Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required
