Job summary

Power Root Malaysia is seeking a pastry professional to join our kitchen team. The role involves following established recipes, maintaining high standards of plating, and supporting seasonal menu items.

Responsibilities include setting up the workstation, receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and operating pastry equipment safely in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Qualifications

• Basic pastry or culinary training (certificate or diploma needed).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a bakery, cafe, hotel or professional environment.
• Understanding of fundamental pastry techniques and baking methods.
• Good time-management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry up to 30-40 lbs and work in fast-paced kitchen environments.

• Support the creation of seasonal or special menu items.
• Set up and stock workstation with necessary ingredients and equipment.

Quality and Food Safety

• Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards consistently.
• Ensure freshness and proper storage of ingredients.
• Conduct basic quality checks on products before service.
• Supervise the pastry production and leading the junior pastry chefs.
• Communicate effectively and support teammates during busy periods.
• Take direction well and show willingness to learn new techniques.
