Sophic Automation – Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, invites applications for a role focused on equipment characterization and EI solutions. You will work with Infineon-defined software to characterize equipment, coordinate with OEMs, and collect NOAK data while developing MES and shopfloor integrations.
The position involves implementing EI, maintaining systems, and identifying automation opportunities across production and supply chain processes within a semiconductor environment.

Sophic Automation – Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah
Perform equipment characterization using Infineon-defined software and tools.
Coordinate and follow up with OEM suppliers on equipment deficiencies and corrective actions.
Collect and maintain required data for Next-of-a-Kind (NOAK) equipment.
Prepare test plans, execute testing and produce test summaries for First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) equipment.
Develop and implement Equipment Integration (EI) solutions for manufacturing equipment.
Support, maintain and enhance EI systems, including patches, bug fixes and system improvements.
Analyse existing production and supply chain processes and identify opportunities for improvement through automation.
Support equipment connectivity, system integration and troubleshooting within the manufacturing/shopfloor environment.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
Preferred Experience: Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment integration, factory automation, MES or shopfloor systems would be an advantage
Good understanding of semiconductor shopfloor systems and processes, including:
Good knowledge of Equipment Integration (EI) concepts and functionalities.
Knowledge of Automation Capabilities Management (ACM) and equipment characterization.
Familiarity with SECS/GEM communication interfaces.
Programming knowledge in C#, Java, XML and XSLT.
Knowledge of middleware technologies such as TIBCO Rendezvous (TibcoRV), MSMQ, webMethods and B2B integration.
Experience working with Windows Server, Unix, Linux and/or Solaris environments.
Knowledge of databases including SQL Server, Oracle and PL/SQL.
Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Familiarity with documentation/design tools such as Enterprise Architect and Confluence.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
