Inventec Appliances (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. in Penang is seeking a software engineer to develop, modify, and maintain automated manufacturing test software for production lines. You will design test flows, create test functions, and validate them against product specs and test requirements.
You will also maintain and optimize production test software for mass production, troubleshoot issues, and plan test environments. Collaboration with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Factory teams is essential.

Develop, modify, and maintain automated manufacturing test software for production lines.
Design test flows, develop test functions, and perform validation according to product specifications and manufacturing test requirements.
Maintain and optimize production test software for mass-production products, and promptly troubleshoot software-related issues on the production line.
Plan, deploy, and maintain manufacturing test environments, including test servers, validation of test tools, and test equipment management.
Analyze and resolve integration issues involving software, firmware, hardware, and manufacturing test equipment.
Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Factory teams to introduce production test solutions and drive continuous process improvements.
Support new product introduction (NPI), pilot runs, and mass production ramp-up activities.
Develop tools for test data collection, analysis, traceability, and production yield improvement.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including test specifications, user manuals, and software release records.
Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Management, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C#, C++, Python, or Tcl.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently develop test software and investigate production issues.
Self-motivated, responsible, and capable of effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.
Good English skills for technical documentation.
Experience supporting factory production, yield analysis, and on-site issue resolution is preferred.
Familiar with communication interfaces such as UART, USB, Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, or RS-232 is preferred.
