Job summary

Charter Built Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Civil Engineering professional to support project/site management across Malaysia.

The role involves planning installation schedules, monitoring site progress, resolving technical drawing discrepancies, and coordinating with consultants, clients and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, at least 3 years of construction/site experience, and be willing to relocate or travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of working experience in construction/site.
• Willing to relocate and/or travel throughout Malaysia.
• Engineering/Construction background is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Understand project safety, cost and quality policies and assist Project/Site Manager.
• Plan installation schedule with Manager to ensure timely completion and monitor site progress.
• Update and monitor daily site progress and drawings records.
• Coordinate with QS and purchasing on sub-contractors, procurement and materials.
• Attend client/consultant/site meetings and prepare monthly reports.
• Prepare work programs and progress reports; liaise with consultants/clients on drawings and variation orders.
• Conduct progress claim evaluation with consultant QS; assist in progress payments.

Education

Bachelor's Degree, Diploma in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent

1) To understand Project policy for safety, cost and quality and support Project/Site Manager to achieve them on all site activities.

2) Responsible to organize and plan installation schedule jointly with Manager as to ensure completion within the time frame and monitoring work progress at site.

3) Understand and assist manager on the daily updating, monitoring of site progress.

4) To resolve construction technical matters and problems, discrepancy of drawing.

Able to keep updating of all incoming drawings received/ proper records of all abortive/ variation works/ discrepancy/ dimensional matters.

5) To supervise and assign daily workforce for general workers.

6) To attend to client-consultant meetings and site meetings and sub-con coordination meeting, and to prepare monthly report.

7) To monitor and to schedule materials deliver, machinery mobilization and small equipment.

8) Ability to prepare work program and progress report.

9) To liaise with office’s QS and purchasing department on the appointment of sub-contractor, supply or procurement of materials, plants and machinery required.

10) To liaise with consultants and clients for detailed drawing, specification and variation orders.

11) To prepare correspondence/memorandum to clients, consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers.

12) To conduct progress claim evaluation with consultant QS and assist in making claims for progress payment.

13) To verify and attend to site progress claim evaluation by main contractors and NSCs.

14) To assist in managing and resolving the defective complaints raised by client or purchasers during Defect Liability Period.

15) To undertake any assignment to be given by the management from time to time as decided by the management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1) Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Diploma in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.

2) At least 3 year(s) and above of working experience in the Construction field or proven site experiences is required for this position.

3) Applicants must be willing to be relocated and/or travel throughout Malaysia.

4) Applicants with Engineering/Construction background will be an added advantage.
