Job summary

Guna Trading Sdn Bhd in Kulai, Johor, seeks a capable Civil Engineer or Site Supervisor to assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating and executing site works. You will supervise construction activities, ensure works follow drawings, specifications and approved method statements, and coordinate with subcontractors, consultants and site teams.

You will monitor progress against the project schedule, prepare RFIs and inspection records, check measurements, maintain drawings and reports,

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building Engineering or related field.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural and M&E drawings.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, site coordination and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager / Site Manager in the daily planning, coordination and execution of site works.
• Supervise construction activities to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site teams on technical and construction matters.
• Monitor daily site progress and ensure works are completed according to the project schedule.
• Check construction drawings and identify any discrepancies, technical issues or clashes before execution.
• Prepare and submit Request for Inspection (RFI), site inspection records and other required technical documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure workmanship and materials comply with approved standards and specifications.
• Assist in resolving technical and construction issues at site.
• Coordinate architectural, structural and M&E works to minimise construction conflicts.
• Monitor manpower, materials, machinery and site resources to support project progress.
• Prepare daily or weekly progress reports and update management on site progress, issues and required actions.
• Ensure subcontractors follow approved construction methods, quality requirements and site instructions.
• Assist in checking measurements and completed works for progress claims when required.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, site instructions, inspection reports, test reports and technical submissions.
• Attend site meetings, coordination meetings and inspections with consultants and clients when required.
• Work closely with the Safety Team to ensure site activities comply with safety requirements.
• Ensure all works comply with company quality procedures, project specifications and relevant authority requirements.
• Carry out any other site-related duties assigned by the Project Manager or Site Manager.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building Engineering or related field.
• Preferably 2–5 years of relevant working experience in building construction.
• Experience in factory, industrial or commercial building projects will be an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret architectural, structural and M&E drawings.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, site coordination and quality control.
• Able to communicate effectively with consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
• Good problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and under site conditions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; knowledge of other construction software is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with good technical knowledge may also be considered for junior positions.
