Jawat Johan Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead construction crews on our projects in Johor Bahru. The role focuses on safety, quality, schedule, and budget adherence, with responsibility for coordinating daily activities and supervising teams on-site.

You will read plans, manage resources, and liaise with clients and project managers while upholding CIDB safety standards and company procedures. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Johor Bahru.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in construction supervision or similar on-site leadership roles.
• Strong ability to read construction plans and technical drawings.

• Proficient communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site in varying conditions.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Site Supervisor to join our team at Jawat Johan Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. As Site Supervisor, you will play a crucial leadership role on our construction sites, overseeing daily operations, managing teams, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and within budget. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for quality construction work and professional site management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage construction crews, ensuring all workers adhere to safety protocols and site regulations
• Plan and coordinate daily construction activities, including task allocation and workforce scheduling
• Monitor project progress and ensure work is completed according to specifications, timelines and budgetary constraints
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, safety risks and quality issues
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, labour hours and site incidents
• Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, architects and other stakeholders regarding site status and progress
• Enforce health and safety standards and ensure compliance with relevant construction legislation and regulations
• Manage material procurement, equipment maintenance and site logistics
• Train and mentor junior staff members and foster a culture of continuous improvement
• Investigate and resolve workplace disputes and performance issues amongst team members

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience of at least 5 years working in construction supervision or a similar leadership role on site
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations and industry best practices
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate diverse teams
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints and technical drawings
• Sound understanding of project management principles, budgeting and resource allocation
• Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Knowledge of health and safety compliance, including relevant certifications such as CIDB or equivalent construction safety qualifications
• Problem-solving abilities and sound judgement in making decisions under pressure
• Physical fitness and willingness to work on site in varying weather conditions
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to different project locations as required
