Job summary

ART FACADE SDN BHD is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) to join our construction team in Johor Bahru on a contract basis. The role focuses on upholding high HSE standards across multiple sites, driving compliance and fostering a safety-first culture.

Key duties include inspections, safety planning, inductions, incident investigations, records maintenance, PPE oversight and training coordination, with a strong emphasis on regulatory adherence and environmental practices.

Qualifications

• Certification as CS0? No, CSHO is required; Malaysia recognition is necessary.
• Minimum 5 years experience as Site Safety Supervisor or similar HSE role in construction.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily/weekly site safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Develop, implement and monitor site safety plans for all construction activities.
• Provide safety inductions and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Investigate safety incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety records and report KPIs to senior management.
• Ensure proper use/maintenance of PPE and safety equipment on site.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure safety standards and contractual requirements.
• Liaise with authorities and respond to safety audits/inspections.
• Identify training needs and arrange HSE training for staff.
• Monitor environmental compliance and waste management on site.

SITE SAFETY SUPERVISOR (SSS) & SITE SUPERVISOR

About the role
ART FACADE SDN BHD is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) to join our construction team in Johor Bahru, Johor on a contract basis. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and environmental (HSE) compliance across all construction sites. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in protecting our workforce, maintaining regulatory compliance and fostering a strong safety culture throughout all project activities. Your strategic oversight of safety protocols will directly contribute to accident prevention, worker wellbeing and project success.

Key responsibilities

Conducting daily and weekly site safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations

Developing, implementing and monitoring comprehensive site safety plans and procedures for all construction activities

Providing safety inductions and toolbox talks to all site personnel to promote safety awareness and best practices

Investigating safety incidents, near-misses and accidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions

Maintaining accurate safety records, documentation and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management

Ensuring proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment on site

Coordinating with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure adherence to safety standards and contractual requirements

Liaising with regulatory authorities and responding to safety audits and inspections

Identifying training needs and arranging relevant HSE training programmes for site staff

Monitoring environmental compliance and waste management practices on site

What we're looking for

Certification as a Certified Safety and Health Officer (CSHO) or equivalent professional HSE qualification recognised in Malaysia

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or similar HSE role within the construction industry

Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, standards and guidelines including the Safety and Health at Work Act 1994

Proven track record in developing and implementing effective safety management systems and incident investigation procedures

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with workers at all levels and senior management

Excellent report writing and documentation skills with attention to detail

Ability to work independently and lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to safety at all times

Physical capability to conduct regular site inspections and walkthroughs

Knowledge of environmental management and waste handling practices

Experience in using safety management software and data analysis tools is highly desirable
