Job summary

Dekad Jitu Sdn Bhd is recruiting an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our on-site construction team in Pulai Indah, Johor. This full-time role focuses on implementing and maintaining health, safety and environmental standards across all site activities to achieve zero incidents and regulatory compliance.

You will conduct risk assessments, lead toolbox talks, provide safety inductions, maintain records and liaise with authorities.

Qualifications

• Professional DOSH qualification recognized in Malaysia.
• Minimum 1 year experience as Site Safety Supervisor or Health and Safety Officer in construction.
• Thorough knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations (OSHA 1994).
• Ability to identify hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Excellent communication and training skills for diverse workforces.
• Proficiency in safety documentation and reporting.
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

About the role

Dekad Jitu Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Safety Supervisor to join our construction team in Pulai Indah, Johor. This is a full-time position based on-site, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental standards across all construction activities. As Site Safety Supervisor, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining rigorous safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety awareness amongst all workers on site. This position is integral to our commitment to delivering projects with zero incidents whilst maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

Conduct daily safety inspections and audits across the site to identify potential hazards, risks and non-compliance issues

Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence

Provide induction and safety training to all site personnel, including new workers, subcontractors and visitors

Maintain comprehensive safety documentation including incident reports, safety records, permits and certifications

Coordinate and liaise with relevant authorities and regulatory bodies regarding safety compliance and reporting requirements

Monitor and manage the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper maintenance of safety equipment on site

Conduct toolbox talks, daily briefings and site walkabouts to reinforce safety awareness among workers and subcontractors

Prepare and present safety performance reports to site management and project stakeholders

Work collaboratively with site managers, contractors and supervisors to resolve safety concerns and ensure continuous improvement in safety performance

Identify unsafe practices, hazards and potential risks, promptly report and recommend corrective measures to the project management

Assist in the enforcement of safety rules and regulations in line with OSHA 1994, FAMA 1967 and DOSH requirements

What we're looking for

A valid Professional Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) or equivalent qualification recognized in Malaysia

A minimum of 1 year experience as a Site Safety Supervisor or Health and Safety Officer within the construction industry

Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, including the Safety and Health at Work Act 1994 (OSHA 1994) and associated guidelines

Strong understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies specific to construction environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and train diverse workforces on safety matters

Proficiency in safety documentation systems and the ability to maintain accurate records and prepare detailed safety reports

Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification

Physical fitness and ability to work on-site in various weather conditions

Registered SSS with DOSH/Yellow Book
