Job summary

AZAN ENGINEERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a diligent Safety Supervisor to monitor daily site activities and ensure OSHA compliance. You will conduct safety inspections, enforce PPE rules, and lead toolbox talks to educate workers on safe practices.

You will prepare safety documentation, investigate incidents, and coordinate with project staff and subcontractors to implement corrective actions. The role requires travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction, Engineering or related field.
• Valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) registration/competency with DOSH/JKKP.
• Relevant experience in construction site safety is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of occupational safety and health requirements and construction site practices.
• Familiar with HIRARC, risk assessment, toolbox meetings, safety inspections and incident reporting.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong observation and problem solving skills.
• Responsible, disciplined and able to work independently.
• Able to work in a fast paced construction site environment.
• Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.
• Possess own transportation is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health requirements.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
• Ensure workers comply with safety rules, procedures and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Advise site personnel and workers on safe working practices.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox meetings and site inductions when required.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining safety related documents, reports and records.
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Recommend and follow up on corrective actions for identified safety issues.
• Monitor the proper use and condition of PPE, safety equipment and site facilities.
• Assist in preparing risk assessments, safety checklists and other relevant safety documentation.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, subcontractors and workers regarding safety matters.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safe access are maintained throughout the construction site.
• Monitor compliance with applicable DOSH/JKKP requirements and company safety procedures.
• Assist during safety audits, inspections and visits by relevant authorities or consultants.
• Carry out other safety-related duties assigned by the management.
