Job summary

KEJURUTERAAN RIAZ SDN. BHD is seeking a Safety Officer to monitor daily construction activities and ensure compliance with safety requirements across sites in Malaysia.

The role requires conducting inspections, toolbox talks, and safety inductions, and maintaining documentation. The candidate should hold a Diploma/Certificate in OSH or related field, with valid DOSH/JKKP Site Safety Supervisor registration, and be ready to travel to project sites while working under pressure in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma/Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction, Engineering or a related field.
• Valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) registration with DOSH/JKKP is required.
• Relevant experience in construction site safety is preferred.
• Good knowledge of construction site safety practices and occupational safety requirements.
• Familiar with HIRARC, risk assessment, toolbox meetings, safety inspections and incident reporting.
• Good understanding of PPE requirements and safe working practices.
• Strong observation and problem solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with site teams.
• Able to work under pressure and in a fast paced construction environment.
• Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements and company procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions and unsafe working practices.
• Ensure all workers and subcontractors comply with site safety rules and requirements.
• Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at the construction site.
• Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings and site safety inductions.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining safety documentation, records, checklists and reports.
• Assist in conducting HIRARC/risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions for identified safety issues.
• Monitor site housekeeping, access routes, working areas and safety signage.
• Ensure safety equipment and facilities are properly maintained and available at the site.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, Site Supervisor, QA/QC team, subcontractors and workers regarding safety matters.
• Assist during safety audits, inspections, and visits by clients, consultants, and relevant authorities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable DOSH/JKKP, OSHA, and other relevant safety requirements.
• Promote safety awareness and good safety practices among workers and site personnel.
• Perform other safety-related duties assigned by the management.
