Job summary

CEEC JSPDI (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Safety Officer to monitor daily safety activities at the worksite and conduct toolbox meetings with workers.

You will ensure compliance with PPE requirements, signposted areas, and safe work procedures while coordinating with subcontractors and management on safety incidents and investigations. The role requires a minimum Diploma or equivalent, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently on construction sites, including overtime

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM / Certificate / Diploma in a relevant field.
• Candidates with construction site safety experience are encouraged to apply.
• SSS competency/certification is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of construction site safety practices and Malaysian OSHA requirements.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and monitor site activities.
• Willing to work at construction sites and overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily safety activities at the worksite.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
• Ensure workers follow company safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe work procedures.
• Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings for workers.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting, scaffolding, excavation, hot work, and confined-space activities.
• Ensure work areas are properly barricaded, signposted, and maintained.
• Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to management.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain safety inspection checklists, toolbox records, permits, and other site safety documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
• Stop or escape unsafe work where there is an immediate safety risk.
• Assist the Safety & Health Officer / management with DOSH and client safety requirements.
• Promote safety awareness among workers and subcontractors.
• Attend site safety meetings and assist in preparing safety reports.
