Job summary

BIIPOWER SDN BHD is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor to oversee safety at a data centre construction site in Malaysia. You will lead toolbox talks, risk assessments, and PTW processes, ensuring compliance with DOSH/JKKP and client safety standards.

The role requires 2–3 years of relevant site safety experience, OSH qualification, and SSS competency. You will coordinate with management and subcontractors and maintain detailed safety records on a fast-paced project.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) competency registration.
• 2–3 years of construction site safety experience; data centre or large-scale projects are a plus.
• Diploma/degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction or related field preferred.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian OSH legislation and construction safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all safety activities at the data centre construction site.
• Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, site inductions and safety awareness programmes.
• Monitor PPE usage, safety equipment, and signage availability and maintenance.
• Review risk assessments, SWP, method statements and PTW requirements.
• Monitor high‑risk activities such as work at height, lifting operations, electrical works, hot works, excavation, and confined spaces.
• Coordinate with management, subcontractors and client safety representatives on safety matters.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses; recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain safety records and incident reports; ensure documentation is up to date.
• Stop unsafe work and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Liaise with DOSH/JKKP and authorities as required.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all safety and health activities at the data centre construction site. Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and potential hazards. Ensure all workers, subcontractors and site activities comply with OSHA 1994, applicable DOSH/JKKP requirements and project/client safety standards.
• Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, site inductions and safety awareness programmes.
• Monitor the proper use of PPE and ensure safety equipment and signage are available and maintained.
• Review and monitor risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements.
• Monitor high-risk activities including working at height, lifting operations, electrical works, hot works, excavation and confined-space activities.
• Coordinate with project management, subcontractors, consultants and client safety representatives on all safety-related matters.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain proper safety records, inspection reports, toolbox meeting records, incident reports and other required documentation.
• Stop or report unsafe work where necessary and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Liaise with DOSH/JKKP and other relevant authorities when required.

About you

• Must possess a valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) Competency Registration / Yellow Book registered with DOSH/JKKP.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant construction site safety experience; experience in data centre, industrial, M&E or large-scale construction projects will be an advantage.
• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Construction or related field is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian Occupational Safety & Health legislation and construction safety requirements.
• Experience in preparing safety documentation, risk assessments, method statements and inspection reports.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with workers, subcontractors, management and clients.
• Able to work independently and take proactive action on site safety matters.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety documentation.
• Able to work at a fast-paced construction environment and meet project requirements.
