Job summary

V CRITICAL ENGINEERING SDN BHD is seeking an experienced Safety Supervisor to join our KL/Johor projects on a contract basis. This role oversees HSE programmes across construction sites and ensures compliance with regulations to protect our workforce.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years in safety roles, valid Yellow Book, OSHD certification, and strong communication skills to train teams and drive a positive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Safety Supervisor or Safety Officer in construction
• Valid Yellow Book Holder
• Valid Occupational Safety and Health (OSHD) certification or equivalent qualification
• In-depth knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations and best practices
• Proven experience in site safety inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification
• Strong understanding of incident investigation procedures and corrective actions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage personnel at all levels
• Proficiency in safety documentation, record-keeping and reporting
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams
• First Aid certification is highly desirable
• Advanced knowledge of ISO 45001 is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Develop, implement and maintain safety policies, procedures and protocols tailored to project requirements
• Deliver induction and toolbox talks to ensure all personnel are aware of site-specific hazards and safety requirements
• Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents, document findings and implement corrective actions
• Monitor and record safety performance metrics, produce reports for management and stakeholders
• Liaise with project managers, contractors and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture
• Ensure proper use of PPE and other safety equipment on site
• Coordinate safety training and certification programmes for site personnel
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation and records
• Respond promptly to safety incidents and ensure appropriate first aid and emergency procedures are followed

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team in KL / Johor on a contract basis. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing and implementing comprehensive health, safety and environmental programmes across our construction sites. As Safety Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, protecting our workforce and maintaining our reputation for excellence in safety management.

What you'll be doing

Conducting regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations

Developing, implementing and maintaining safety policies, procedures and protocols tailored to project requirements

Delivering induction and toolbox talks to ensure all personnel are aware of site-specific hazards and safety requirements

Investigating accidents and near-miss incidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions

Monitoring and recording safety performance metrics, producing reports for management and stakeholders

Liaising with project managers, contractors and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture

Ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment on site

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Safety Supervisor or Safety Officer within the construction industry

Valid Yellow Book Holder

Valid Occupational Safety and Health (OSHD) certification or equivalent recognised qualification

In-depth knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, standards and best practices

Proven experience in conducting site safety inspections, risk assessments and hazard identification

Strong understanding of incident investigation procedures and corrective action implementation

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage personnel at all levels

Proficiency in safety documentation, record-keeping and report writing

Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with project teams

Demonstrated commitment to promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture

Current First Aid certification is highly desirable

Advanced knowledge of safety management systems such as ISO 45001 is advantageous
