Job summary

WKF Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support project planning, cost control and value engineering on construction projects in Malaysia. You will prepare take-offs, monitor expenditures and work with site teams to keep projects on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates have 3–4 years of QS experience, strong numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Travel to project sites may be required.

Job description

This is a Quantity Surveying role focused on project planning, cost management, and operational efficiency in construction. You will work directly with senior management on cost optimization, prepare accurate measurements and cost estimates, monitor project expenditure, and coordinate site teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to project planning, budgets, procurement and operational strategies
• Work directly with senior management on cost optimization and profitability
• Recommend improvements to operational efficiency and productivity
• Prepare accurate measurements, quantity take-offs, quotations and cost estimates
• Monitor project expenditure, material wastage and variations
• Identify opportunities to improve project margins
• Coordinate site supervisors, installers and subcontractors
• Manage installation schedules, manpower and material requirements
• Oversee project progress, quality inspections and handovers
• Resolve operational challenges proactively

Job Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying
• 3–4 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying in construction
• Good understanding of quantity take-off, costing, quotation comparison and cost control
• Familiar with variation orders, progress claims and subcontractor management
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to work independently
• Good communication, negotiation and coordination skills
• Able to communicate and write in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Possess own transport and willing to travel to project sites when required
• Must have full working rights in Malaysia
