Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia is seeking a Quantity Surveyor based in Gemas and Kuantan to manage pre-contract and post-contract QS activities for building projects.

The role covers quantity take-off, cost analysis, budgeting, obtaining quotations, handling progress claims, variation orders, final accounts, and providing commercial support to site and project teams. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD and Glodon, plus English and Bahasa Malaysia, is preferred.

Qualifications

• QS post for both Pre & Post Contract works in Building Construction
• Ability to prepare cost analysis, budgets and monitor expenditures
• Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Prepare, submit and follow up on progress claims
• Evaluate subcontractor claims and manage payment certification
• Manage variation orders and final accounts with clients, consultants and subcontractors
• Provide commercial and contractual support to site and project teams
• Proactive and able to work with minimum supervision
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia

About you

Computer literate (Microsoft Office application, AutoCAD, and Glodon)

Knowledge of construction methods, costing summary and materials budget handling skills

Demonstrate innovative approaches to problem-solving and an ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment

Proactive and able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision

Able to prioritize and respond with an appropriate level of urgency

Able to communicate in both languages of Bahasa Malaysia and English

3 years experience (Preferred)
