About the role Boon Boon Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency and maintaining contractual compliance across our construction projects. This position is integral to our project delivery success, directly supporting our commitment to delivering high-quality construction projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documentation for construction projects
• Managing project budgets and cost controls throughout all project phases from inception to completion
• Monitoring expenditure and providing regular cost reporting to project managers and senior management
• Conducting valuations and interim certificates for progress payments to contractors
• Negotiating and agreeing on contract variations and claims with contractors and clients
• Preparing final accounts and settling disputes regarding project costs and contractual matters
• Conducting site inspections and measurements to verify work completion and quality standards
• Liaising with contractors, consultants, clients and other stakeholders to ensure effective cost management
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and providing recommendations for improved project efficiency

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying or equivalent discipline from an accredited institution
• Professional membership with a relevant surveying body (such as AIQS, RISM or equivalent) or eligibility to obtain membership
• A minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement practices and cost management principles
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare clear reports and documentation
• Proven negotiation and problem-solving abilities in managing contractor disputes and claims
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team on multiple projects simultaneously
