Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Civil Engineer / Site Engineer to oversee daily civil construction activities at a major project site in Malaysia. You will ensure works follow approved drawings, specifications, and schedules, review method statements, and coordinate with project teams, QA/QC, and HSE.

Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering with 1 year of field experience is required; experience in TNB or solar projects is a plus. Willing to travel.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 1 year of experience as Civil Engineer/Site Engineer in construction (prefer large-scale projects).
• Experience in TNB projects / Solar Projects is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily civil construction activities at the project site.
• Monitor site progress to meet approved schedule and milestones.
• Review construction drawings, method statements, and technical documents before works.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, QA/QC, HSE for smooth project execution.
• Supervise earthworks, concrete works, foundations, drainage, and related civil works.
• Ensure compliance with quality requirements and construction standards.
• Coordinate survey teams for setting out, alignment, and level control.
• Prepare progress reports and site records; support progress claims.
• Ensure safety compliance with HSE during all civil activities.

Supervise and coordinate daily civil construction activities at the project site to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

Monitor site progress and ensure civil works are completed within the approved project schedule and milestones.

Review construction drawings, method statements, work procedures, and technical documents prior to commencement of works.

Coordinate with Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors, QA/QC, HSE team, and other disciplines to ensure smooth project execution.

Supervise civil works including site preparation, earthworks, excavation, soil compaction, concrete works, equipment foundations, cable trenches, drainage systems, access roads, fencing, and other associated infrastructure works.

Monitor construction of Solar-related civil structures including battery container foundations, inverter/PCS foundations, transformer foundations, control room buildings, and other equipment bases.

Ensure all construction activities comply with approved quality requirements, specifications, and construction standards.

Coordinate with survey teams to ensure proper setting out, alignment, and level control for civil works.

Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship, productivity, and compliance with project requirements.

Conduct site measurements, verify completed works, and support preparation of progress claims and project reports.

Identify site issues, technical challenges, and construction risks, and propose effective solutions.

Monitor material delivery, usage, and storage to ensure availability and prevent wastage.

Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, and construction records.

Coordinate inspections and testing activities with QA/QC team, consultants, and clients.

Ensure all civil works comply with project safety requirements in coordination with the HSE team.

Support project testing, commissioning, and handover activities.

Perform any other duties assigned by superior.

Requirements:

Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineering or its related field.

Have 1 year of experience as Civil Engineer / Site Engineer in construction field preferably in large scale projects.

Have any experience in TNB projects / Solar Projects are an added advantage.

Have good communication and strong problem-solving skills.

Have good report writing skills.

Willing to travel to other site projects if required.
