Job summary

Sato Kogyo is seeking a Site Engineer to support design coordination through construction, delivering quality work aligned with client and authority requirements. The role involves site execution, documentation, and coordination with consultants, subcontractors, and authorities.

Based at HQ in Damansara Uptown, Selangor, with project-site assignments as needed. Candidates should have 5+ years in construction and strong English/Bahasa Malaysia proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil/building engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, planning, and quality control.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word for technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design coordination: review drawings, coordinate revisions with PMs and consultants.
• Constructability assessment and practical construction methodologies.
• Prepare method statements, reports and project documents.
• Support site planning, ensure work meets specs and inspections.
• Resolve technical issues with clients, consultants and subcontractors.

What you will be doing (Key Responsibilities)

Design coordination: Support project planning and engineering activities, review design drawings, identify discrepancies, and coordinate revisions with the Project Manager, consultants, and Draftsman.

Constructability assessment: Evaluate designs and propose practical construction methodologies that meet client and authority requirements.

Technical documentation: Prepare method statements, engineering reports, technical documents, presentation materials, and other project documentation.

Site execution and quality: Assist the Project Manager with planning and site activities, monitor construction quality and progress, and ensure work complies with specifications, approved procedures, inspections, and testing requirements.

Technical issue resolution: Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, authorities, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues, defects, non-conforming work, and site matters throughout the project lifecycle.

What do we need from you (Job Requirements)

Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

At least 5 years of experience in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning, quality control, and technical documentation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Willingness to travel or work at project sites when required.

Based at the HQ in Damansara Uptown, Selangor, with project-site assignments as required.
