Jora Malaysia is seeking a Site Engineer to plan, coordinate and monitor daily construction activities at the assigned project site, and to coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Agent, and subcontractors.
You will supervise workmanship, review drawings, ensure compliance with ITPs, maintain records, and support safety, quality, and progress reporting while working at project sites.

Plan, coordinate and monitor daily construction activities at the assigned project site.
Coordinate closely with the Project Manager, Site Agent, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, consultants and other project personnel.
Monitor site progress against the approved construction program and identify potential delays.
Coordinate work sequences to ensure smooth and efficient site operations.
Assist in planning manpower, materials, equipment and other resources required for site activities.
Supervise and monitor construction works to ensure they are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, construction plans and work instructions.
Ensure workmanship and construction activities meet the required quality standards.
Monitor subcontractors' work progress, productivity and compliance with project requirements.
Identify site issues and coordinate with the relevant parties to implement appropriate corrective actions.
Review construction drawings, specifications and technical documents before commencement of site works.
Identify discrepancies, technical issues or constructability concerns and report them to the Project Manager / relevant consultants.
Coordinate with consultants on technical matters, inspections and site requirements.
Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues encountered at site.
Ensure all approved revisions and latest drawings are properly implemented at site.
Ensure inspection and testing are carried out in accordance with the approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
Coordinate with consultants and relevant parties for inspections and testing.
Ensure construction materials comply with approved specifications and requirements.
Submit material samples, test results, certificates and relevant documentation for approval where required.
Monitor rectification works and ensure defects are properly addressed and closed out.
Maintain proper records of site inspections, testing and quality-related matters.
Ensure all site activities comply with the company's QESH policies, procedures and requirements.
Promote safe working practices among workers and subcontractors.
Monitor housekeeping and site conditions to maintain a safe and organized workplace.
Immediately report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and potential hazards to the relevant personnel.
Support the implementation of environmental, safety and health requirements at the project site.
Monitor daily, weekly and monthly progress of construction works.
Prepare and submit site progress reports, updates and other required documentation.
Highlight delays, constraints, manpower issues, material shortages and other project risks to the Project Manager.
Maintain accurate records of site activities, work progress, inspections and relevant project documentation.
Assist in preparing progress updates for project meetings and management review.
Coordinate and monitor subcontractors' activities to ensure compliance with project schedules, drawings and specifications.
Follow up on material deliveries and ensure materials are available according to the construction programmed.
Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity and work quality.
Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve site-related issues promptly.
Attend site meetings, technical meetings, coordination meetings and inspections with clients, consultants, subcontractors and relevant authorities when required.
Follow up on action items arising from site meetings.
Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
Assist the Project Manager in resolving coordination and construction issues.
Ensure proper filing and maintenance of project documents, drawings, inspection records, reports and correspondence.
Ensure site works comply with applicable statutory requirements, approved plans and project specifications.
Assist in preparing documentation required for authority inspections and approvals.
Support the project team in maintaining proper document control.
Assist the Project Manager / Senior Project Manager in achieving project objectives relating to quality, safety, cost and timely completion.
Carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, initiative and a strong commitment to project delivery.
Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building or a related discipline.
Preferably 2-5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry for Site Engineer level.
Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also be considered depending on project requirements.
Good knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specifications and site practices.
Knowledge of quality, safety, health and environmental requirements.
Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Able to read and understand construction drawings and technical documents.
Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD / relevant construction software will be an advantage.
Able to work independently as well as within a project team.
Willing to work at project sites and under pressure to meet project deadlines.
Willing to work extended hours when required by project requirements.
