Job summary

M.E.I. Project Engineers Sdn Bhd invites a qualified Site Engineer to join our on-site team in Johor Bahru.

You will oversee construction activities on site, ensure conformity with approved drawings, and coordinate with the Professional Engineer and contractors to resolve issues promptly. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of site experience, strong design/coordination skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• At least 2 years of experience as Site Engineer.
• Strong technical skills in design, analysis, and project coordination.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and related engineering tools.
• Solid understanding of local engineering standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the eyes and ears of the consultant on-site.
• Monitor and supervise construction works and resolve site issues.
• Report non-conformities to the PE in charge.
• Observe site safety practices and report hazards.
• Ensure construction complies with laws, by-laws, and standards.
• Assist the PE in verifying materials and workmanship meet requirements.
• Liaise between contractor and supervising PE on permitting matters.
• Assist with document and drawing submission, collection, approval and inspection.
• Monitor work progress with systemic tracking; coordinate deliverables.
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with other consultants and contractors.
• Verify as-built drawings tallied with approvals.
• Any other assignments as deemed fit by the Company.

Job description

• Acting as the eyes and ears of the consultant on-site.
• Monitor and supervise construction works to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the authorities' approved drawings, and relevant regulations, etc. and resolve site issues
• Report any non-conformities or deviations from the design/ the authorities' approved drawings, to the Professional Engineer (PE) in charge.
• Observe site safety practices and report unsafe practices or hazards to the PE and the relevant authority if required.
• Ensure that construction practices comply with the laws, by-laws, standards, and regulations applicable to the project.
• Assist the PE in verifying that materials and workmanship meet quality requirements on permitting-related matters.
• Act as a liaison between the contractor and the supervising PE on permitting related matters.
• Liaison with authority including assisting PE on document & drawing submission, collection, approval and inspection arrangement
• To monitor work progress with systemic tracking, coordinate deliverables & etc.
• Attend (or chair) site meetings and coordinate with other consultants and contractors as needed.
• Verify that the as-built drawings submitted by contractors are tallied with the authorities' approved drawings, and properly documented.
• Any other assignments the Company deems fit
