Job summary

M.E.I. Consultants Sdn Bhd is seeking a Site Engineer on a contract basis in Johor to supervise on-site activities, ensure compliance with approved drawings and regulations, and coordinate with the PE and authorities. The role focuses on project coordination, design and safety oversight.

The ideal candidate has a Civil/Mechanical/Electrical engineering background with at least 2 years of site experience and strong communication skills to liaise with contractors and consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or a related field).
• At least 2 years of experience as Site Engineer.
• Strong technical skills in design, analysis, and project coordination.
• Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD and tools relevant to your discipline.
• Solid understanding of local engineering standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Site supervision and on-site coordination with consultants and contractors.
• Monitor and supervise works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and regulations; resolve site issues.
• Report non-conformities or deviations to the Professional Engineer in charge.
• Observe site safety and report hazards to PE and authorities when required.
• Coordinate permitting-related documentation with authorities and assist in submissions/inspections.
• Attend site meetings and liaise with other consultants and contractors as needed.
• Verify as-built drawings align with authorities' approved drawings and documentation.

Job description

M.E.I. Consultants Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented and motivated Site Engineer to join our team on a contract basis in Johor.

What you'll be doing

(a)Site supervision

- Acting as the eyes and ears of the consultant on-site.

- Monitor and supervise construction works to ensure they are carried out in accordance with the authorities' approved drawings, and relevant regulations, etc. and resolve site issues

- Report any non-conformities or deviations from the design/ the authorities' approved drawings, to the Professional Engineer (PE) in charge.

- Observe site safety practices and report unsafe practices or hazards to the PE and the relevant authority if required.

(b)Compliance Assurance

- Ensure that construction practices comply with the laws, by-laws, standards, and regulations applicable

to the project.

- Assist the PE in verifying that materials and workmanship meet quality requirements on permitting-related matters.

(c) Communication and Coordination

- Act as a liaison between the contractor and the supervising PE on permitting related matters

- Liaison with authority including assisting PE on document & drawing submission, collection,

approval and inspection arrangement

- To monitor work progress with systemic tracking, coordinate deliverables & etc.

- Attend (or chair) site meetings and coordinate with other consultants and contractors as needed.

- Verify that the as-built drawings submitted by contractors are tallied with the authorities' approved drawings, and properly documented.

(e)Any other assignments the Company deems fit
