Job summary

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in construction supervision or site coordination.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and health and safety regulations in Malaysia.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Willingness to travel within Sarawak and hold a valid driving license.
• Preferably degree in construction management, engineering or related field.

About the role

Ion Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Site Coordinator to join our construction team in Kuching, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and efficient management of our construction sites. As Site Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating daily site activities, managing logistics, and liaising between various teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and safety across all our construction operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily site operations, ensuring all activities run smoothly and efficiently
• Manage site logistics including material delivery schedules, equipment positioning and resource allocation
• Monitor project progress against timelines and identify any potential delays or issues
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, attendance logs and safety documentation
• Communicate effectively with site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure project alignment
• Assist in implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures on site
• Coordinate inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
• Support budget management by tracking expenses and monitoring resource utilization
• Liaise with external parties such as local authorities and utility companies when required
• Prepare and maintain site documentation including drawings, permits and compliance records

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in construction supervision or site coordination roles, ideally 3-5 years or more
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and health and safety regulations in Malaysia
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with site management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
• Knowledge of relevant Malaysian construction standards and building regulations
• A valid driving license and willingness to travel within Sarawak as needed
• Preferably a qualification in construction management, engineering or related field
• Previous experience in a similar role within Malaysia is highly desirable
