Job summary

Kps Hcm is seeking a site engineer to provide day-to-day technical engineering support to the Construction Manager on civil, structural, mechanical and electrical works at site. You will conduct site visits, interpret drawings, perform setting-out checks and guide site execution with contractors and field personnel.

The role involves QA/QC implementation, witnessing testing, resolving technical queries, and supporting handover activities, safety, and progress tracking on site.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical engineering support to the Construction Manager for civil, structural, mechanical and electrical construction works at site.
• Conduct site-visits and obtain all required site information for project planning and proposal.
• Interpret and implement approved engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, specifications and method statements to guide site execution.
• Carry out or verify setting-out, levels and dimensional checks for foundations, mounting structures, equipment layouts and other civil/structural works.
• Provide technical clarification and guidance to contractors, subcontractors and site personnel on execution requirements.
• Monitor workmanship and installation quality against approved drawings, specifications and quality standards; identify and rectify technical non-compliances.
• Implement the site QA/QC programme and Inspection & Testing Plan (ITP) for assigned work areas, and conduct routine technical inspections.
• Witness and support material and installation testing (e.g. torque checks, cable megger/insulation resistance tests, earthing and continuity tests).
• Raise, track and support close-out of site instructions, defects, NCRs and punch-list items through to completion.
• Resolve day-to-day site technical queries and constraints, escalating design-related issues to the Design Engineer/project team.
• Support the Construction Manager in construction sequencing, work planning and resolution of site operational bottlenecks.
• Track daily/weekly construction progress against schedule for assigned work areas and flag delays, risks or resource shortages to the Construction Manager.
• Verify quantities and quality of completed works to support progress claims validation.
• Prepare and maintain technical site records, inspection and test reports, photographs, redline markups and as-built records.
• Coordinate with the Design Engineer and project delivery team on technical clarifications, drawing revisions and design changes.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities, including compiling test reports, as built drawings and handover documentation.
• Support site safety compliance, toolbox meetings and a strong safety culture on site.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Site Supervisor(s) and field personnel.
• Stand in for the Construction Manager on routine site technical matters in their absence, escalating major decisions.
• And other ad-hoc required and related matters assigned.
