Job summary

DEF Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a civil engineer to plan, coordinate, and supervise construction activities in line with project specs and timelines. The role requires reading drawings, BOQ, and technical specs, and ensuring work complies with design and QA/QC standards.

You will monitor progress, coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, and prepare progress reports while supporting cost control and safety programs on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in civil engineer/construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site practices.
• Ability to read drawings, BOQ, and technical specifications.
• Familiar with QA/QC standards.
• Experience with basic engineering software (AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job description

Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil construction activities in accordance with project specifications and timelines. Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and method statements. Ensure all works are executed in compliance with design requirements, contract specifications, and applicable standards.

Key responsibilities

Prepare method statements, work procedures, and technical submissions

Monitor site progress and productivity; identify delays and implement corrective actions

Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on technical and site matters

Ensure quality control through inspections, testing, and adherence to QA/QC procedures

Review and verify shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical documentation

Manage and control site resources including manpower, materials, and equipment

Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues or discrepancies

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and support implementation of HSE policies

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management

Assist in cost control, material estimation, and variation orders

About you

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field

Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in civil engineer/construction industry
