Job summary

Region System Sdn Bhd is seeking a Shipping Assistant Manager to oversee daily shipping and logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of all shipments. The role collaborates with production, warehouse, purchasing, sales, and freight forwarders to maintain compliance and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years of shipping/logistics experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication to manage international shipments and related documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Shipping or related field.
• Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in shipping, logistics, import/export.
• Experience in managing shipping documentation and coordinating import/export shipments.
• Knowledge of customs procedures, freight forwarding, and international shipping processes.
• Good understanding of inventory, warehouse, and supply chain operations.
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills.

Job description

The Shipping Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the company's shipping and logistics activities to ensure finished goods, raw materials, and other shipments are handled efficiently, accurately, and on time. The position works closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Sales, Customs, Freight Forwarders, and Transporters to ensure smooth import and export operations and compliance with company procedures and relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

Manage and supervise daily shipping and logistics operations

Coordinate local and overseas shipments, including import and export activities

Prepare and verify shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, delivery orders, and certificates of origin

Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs agents, transporters, and customers

Monitor shipment schedules and ensure timely delivery of finished goods and raw materials

Arrange transportation, container bookings, loading schedules, and delivery arrangements

Monitor shipping costs, freight charges, and logistics expenses

Ensure proper customs documentation and compliance with import/export requirements

Coordinate with the warehouse and production departments to ensure goods are ready for shipment according to schedule

Track shipments and provide updates to management and relevant departments

About you

Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Shipping, or a related field

Minimum 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in shipping, logistics, import/export, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Experience in managing shipping documentation and coordinating import/export shipments

Knowledge of customs procedures, freight forwarding, transportation, and international shipping processes

Good understanding of inventory, warehouse, and supply chain operations

Good communication and negotiation skills

Strong leadership and team management skills

Good problem-solving and organizational skills

Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office and ERP systems

Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks under pressure
