NUR Power Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Distribution Operations Technician to oversee the operation and monitoring of the Kulim distribution network, including LV and high-voltage assets. The role involves switching, safety documentation, outage response, and coordinating maintenance and contractor activities.
Applicants should have 5+ years in equipment maintenance, commissioning or testing, and relevant Suruhanjaya Tenaga competencies.

The role is responsible for the operation and monitoring of NUR’s distribution system assets, including LV, 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV networks. This includes carrying out switching operations, preparing switching plans, issuing safety documentation, responding to customer and outage calls, and supporting maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the distribution network. The role also performs substation inspections, cable-related activities, contractor supervision, project support, and maintains all records associated with operational and field activities.
Lead Operation of Distribution system equipment (LV, 11 kV, 33 kV, 132 kV)
Preparation of Switching Plans (11 kV, 33 kV, 132 kV)
Issue of Safety documents as required by Distribution Safety Rules
Attend to Customer Service Calls and Outage Calls
Cable Patrols and Cable Tracing
Support Distribution System Asset Maintenance (LV, 11 kV, 33 kV, 132 kV)
Substation Routine inspections
Substation Battery maintenance
Supervision of Service Contractors
Supervise capital and network reinforcement project
To involve Cable Testing and Cable Fault Location
To involve Cable Identification and Cable Spiking
To complete necessary records and forms associated with the above activities
To assist on duty Operation Technician and Field Technicians during their ‘normal works days’
Any other responsibilities that may be required, in the interests of the Company from time to time.
Preferable holds Suruhanjaya Tenaga Certificate of B4 or BO Competency of 11kV or above
Candidate holds Suruhanjaya Tenaga Certificate of A4 could be considered
Holds Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering
At least 5 years working experience in primary equipment and/or secondary equipment maintenance, commissioning and testing
Required to drive distribution vehicles and other vehicles as may be assigned
Individual Technician may have other additional duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time. It is not essential for all technicians to be competent in all aspects of the work. However sufficient competency must be available to deliver the required service.
