Job summary

Myi Technologies Sdn Bhd is seeking a Server & Infrastructure Engineer in Malaysia to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise server infrastructure for commercial and institutional clients.

You will lead technical deployment from design to post-installation support, ensuring high availability, security, and peak performance across client environments. The role requires Mandarin communication with suppliers in China and willingness to travel for on-site deployments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience in server design, deployment, maintenance, or system integration is an advantage (fresh graduates with relevant internships/projects are encouraged to apply).
• Strong understanding of server hardware, RAID configurations, virtualization, backup strategies, and disaster recovery methods.
• Proficient in MS Office and documentation tools; ability to understand technical specifications and network diagrams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, VCP, RHCSA, CompTIA Server+) are an added advantage.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is required as the role involves daily communication and coordination with suppliers in China.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, install, and commission server hardware (Dell, HPE, Lenovo), SAN/NAS, and backup solutions.
• Deploy and manage virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Proxmox.
• Set up and configure Windows Server, Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu), and related services (AD, DNS, DHCP, File/Print).
• Perform system updates, patch management, security hardening, and performance monitoring.
• Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement preventive measures.
• Prepare technical documentation, including server rack layouts, network topology diagrams, and SOPs.
• Coordinate with project teams, network engineers, and external vendors during installation and migration projects.
• Provide on-site and remote support during commissioning, handover, and post-installation phases.
• Manage and maintain hardware inventory and conduct periodic system audits.
• Prepare technical proposals, tender documents, quotations, BOQs, and solution architecture drawings.
• Deliver product demos, technical presentations, and solution briefings to clients regarding server and infrastructure solutions.
• Provide technical consultation to sales teams, IT managers, and C-level executives.
• Understand customer requirements and design suitable on-premise, hybrid, or cloud-integrated infrastructure solutions.
• Support sales activities: lead follow-ups, negotiations, proposal refinements, and securing orders.
• Gather customer feedback for product improvements and market insights.
• Participate in training internal teams on product knowledge and solution capabilities.
• Ensure deployed systems meet client expectations and deliver optimal performance.

We are looking for a Server & Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in enterprise server hardware, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies. This role focuses heavily on the design, deployment, and maintenance of server infrastructure for commercial and institutional clients.

You will be involved from the early project design stage to post-deployment support, serving as the go-to technical expert for both internal teams and clients. You will ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of server systems across all client environments.

Key Responsibilities
