Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking a Senior Technical Engineer (Production Machining) to support CAD/CAM and simulation software across ASEAN markets. You will leverage expertise in 5-axis CNC programming and post processing to enable high-precision manufacturing projects.

The role requires international travel and on-site deployments, including demonstrations and customer training for ESPRIT, EDGECAM, and NCSIMUL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree or technical diploma with CNC programming experience.
• 7+ years in CNC machine tools, CAM, and production engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and post processors.
• English fluency; additional SEA/Japanese/Korean language skills are a plus.
• Demonstrated autonomy and strong teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-sales technical activities and post-sales training for customers and channel partners.
• Travel across ASEAN Pacific; assist markets internationally.
• Become a technical expert in Production Software for CAD/CAM and NC code simulation.
• Lead on-site implementations, demonstrations, and post-sales support for ESPRIT, EDGECAM, and NCSIMUL.
• Configure post processors, automation workflows and macros to meet customer needs.
• Provide training, proof of concepts, benchmarks, and presentations.

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Technical Engineer is based in ASEAN. S/He works closely with the sales and engineering teams to help metal-working manufacturing industries to achieve manufacturing excellence with productivity and quality through Hexagon Production Software solution.

• This is an individual contributor role, reporting to Sales Director of Production Software Division (ASEAN & ANZ) to support pre-sales technical activities, post-sales technical support and training for customers and channel partners.
• S/He will support activities across all the markets in ASEAN Pacific. The role involves international travel.
• The senior engineer will become a technical expert in Production Software solutions required for part machining/ precision engineering focused on CAD/CAM, NC code simulation, to support all types of machine tools, machine tool builders and manufacturing industries.
• Lead on-site implementations, demonstrations, and post-sales support for ESPRIT, EDGECAM, and NCSIMUL.
• Program and validate mill-turn, 5-axis, and multi-tasking machines for high-precision applications.
• Deploy probing strategies using different probe hardware, controllers for part alignment, in-process control, and automation.
• Customize post processors, automation workflows, and macros to suit customer-specific production needs.
• Apply machining expertise in domains like Aerospace (tight tolerances), Medical (implant accuracy), Oil & Gas (hard material handling), Energy (large-scale parts), and Automotive (high throughput).
• Implement simulation workflows in NCSIMUL for G-code verification, collision detection, and production assurance.
• The senior engineer will also work with other members of the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence team to support our integrated approach by providing customers with smart manufacturing autonomous solutions.
• S/He will be comfortable doing training, product demonstrations, creating proof of concepts, benchmarks and presentations.
• S/He should be excited about learning new skills, such as helping to implement our new range of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning software solutions.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or Technical School with a high level of experience in CNC machine tool programming (5 axis) with post processing knowledge.
• 7+ years of work experience in the CNC machine tool industry, CAM products, machine shops in programming, production, engineering, and application departments is required.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software with post processor, CNC machine and complex machining applications
• Added experience of running a CNC machine tool (Milling, Lathe, Mill-Turn machines, Swiss style machine) along with on machine measurements will be an advantage
• Has good knowledge and an established network within Automotive, Aerospace, Electronics, Mould & Die sectors, and machine tool builders
• Fluent in English language. Knowledge of an additional language from the Southeast Asia/ Japanese/ Korean will be a plus.
