Job summary

Arup in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Transmission and Distribution Engineer to join the Southeast Asia team. The role focuses on design of medium and high‑voltage substations for energy projects, coordination with regional offices, and development of skills and capabilities across the Energy group.

The position offers opportunities to contribute to life‑cycle design, asset management, and bid development, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, safety, and client service.

Qualifications

• Strong communication across levels, both technical and non‑technical.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients.
• Excellent written reporting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed design of medium/high voltage substations for energy projects.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and client specs.
• Collaborate with drafting teams to reflect latest requirements.
• Provide technical oversight during FAT/SAT and site tests.
• Support grid connection of Renewable Energy projects.
• Participate in bid preparation and development of techno‑commercial tender documents.
• Develop project schedules and risk assessments for bids.
