Job summary

Aurecon Group in Malaysia seeks a Technical Director, Structural to lead the structural engineering design from concept through construction. You will mentor engineers, review deliverables, and ensure compliance with international and local codes while delivering projects on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates bring a PEPC license, 20+ years in structural engineering, and a proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams and developing client relationships in Malaysia's market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
• Must be a registered PEPC with authority to review and certify structural work.
• Minimum of 20 years of structural engineering experience on large-scale projects.
• Proven leadership and team management across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, foundations and other structural systems.
• Solid understanding of local and international design codes and standards.
• Experience coordinating with civil, architectural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical and construction disciplines.
• Ability to identify risks and propose cost-effective solutions.
• Excellent project planning, scheduling, budgeting and prioritization.
• Strong business development skills, with track record of securing new work in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for projects from concept to construction.
• Manage structural team and budgets.
• Plan and review structural analysis and PE Endorsement.
• Ensure compliance with codes and client specs.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Review and approve deliverables including calculations and drawings.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote CPD.
• Interface with clients, contractors, vendors, and authorities.
• Identify and mitigate engineering risks.
• Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Support business development within Malaysia market.
